Tomorrow it Begins!

So after several requests for me to blog my way through medical school, I figured since I already have this one set up, why not repurpose it!  It's not like I'm going to be going on any really cool trips for a while... But hey I can't really complain about it after this year: Last August I started my senior year at Baylor by studying abroad in Europe for three months, came back for Thanksgiving and my sister's wedding (great party btw!), went back to Waco for my last semester (many great parties!), got accepted into OU College of Medicine (happy dance party), Went to Kenya for a medical mission trip that was life changing (driving down a dirt road jamming out to Taylor Swift Party), moved home, reconnected with friends, and met a ton of new friends in my Medical School Class

Today I want to be a (in no particular order): Pediatric Surgeon, Plastic Surgeon, Orthopedic Surgeon, Emergency Medicine Physician, Trauma Surgeon, Family Physician, or Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Health Promoter in Africa starting up clinics, a beach bartender, or European Bike Tour Leader

Today I think I have: either a staph infection or a recurrence of singles behind my ear, but I don't know enough about either of these to run to my dad, just enough to make two late night phone calls to him about it.

Fun Fact of the Day: It's my birthday today, and also Pakistan's Independence Day.  Thus I added go to Pakistan on Aug 14th to my bucket list.  I always have thought that my coming into the world needed to be celebrated by an entire nation with fireworks!

So in less than 12 hours I will be starting medical school (commence panic excitement panic!) Right now, actually I'm a mix of all these funny feelings that I haven't experienced since starting undergrad.  It's hard to say exactly what percentage of what emotions I'm feeling, but needless to say all the major emotional groups are represented, and I'm having emotional swings every two minutes or so.
I've tried to get everything done at my house that I can, so I don't have to worry about it this week, so I mowed the lawn, changed my sheets on the bed, did a load of laundry (and put it way too! Which if you know me is a miracle in and of itself!) I picked out my outfit for tomorrow (kahki's, blue button down, blue plaid tie, brown leather Sperry's) packed my bag with the essentials: pens, pencil, "Blue Flavor" 5 brand gum (in case Megan W. hunts me down for a piece like she did most days of undergrad!) and laptop charger, so in the morning all I have to do is pack my laptop and go!
Well I'm going to sleep. Yes it's only 10:40 and I'm going to bed.  I'm going to be a med student starting tomorrow, and they exist on almost no sleep according to mythology, so I want to enjoy my last night of sleep as a civilian!
